3rd NECIC - MALACCA
Early Childhood Care and Education – Working in Partnership Towards Inclusion
These series of national conferences on early childhood intervention have been organized by a coalition of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in collaboration with relevant government agencies and has gained the support from UNICFEF Malaysia since its inception.
3RD NECIC MALACCA
Malacca hosted the 3rd NECIC from 2nd – 4th December 2010 at the Avillion Legacy Hotel with the theme “Early Childhood Care and Education – Working in Partnership Towards Inclusion”. We received considerable recognition from UNICEF and was boosted with a substantial funding assistance. This enabled the conference organisers to subsidise generously and encouraged the participants of parents. The 3rd NECIC attracted more than 379 delegates.
There was a special commemoration held on 3rd December to celebrate Malaysia’s commitment to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in conjunction with International Day of PWD 2010.
The government collaborators of NECIC 2010 were Ministry of Health (Medical Development Division), Ministry of Education (Special Education Division) and Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (Department of Social Welfare).
The 22 NGOs collaborators were Asia Community Service (Penang), Association for Children with Special Needs (Sibu), Bethany Home (Teluk Intan), Bold Association for Children with Special Needs (Penang), CBM Christoffel-Blindenmission, Kuching Autistic Association, Malaysian Association of Speech-Language & Hearing (MASH), Malaysian Care (KL), Malaysian Paediatric Association (MPA), Methodist Care Centre (Sibu), National Autistic Society of Malaysia (NASOM), New Horizons Society (Ipoh), Persatuan Kanak-Kanak Istimewa Kajang (Selangor), Sabah Society for the Deaf, Salvation Army Hopehaven Centre (Melaka), Sibu Autistic Association, Wings Melaka |
