  Objectives

The establishment of the National Early Childhood Intervention Council (NECIC) officially registered in February 2011, was first mooted after the first national conference in Penang.

The role of the National Council is to act as a forum to discuss, advocate, monitor and review all policies and actions related to early childhood intervention. We promote and emphasize the crucial components of effective early childhood intervention.

We also aim to provide a voice on current issues through press releases and active participation in dialogues and roundtables meetings.

One of the main activities to develop human capital is to organize staff exchange programmes as well as the conferences.

The national coordinating body works hand-in-hand with local organizers of the hosting state to carry out the biennial National Conference, which is held on a rotating basis in various states throughout the country. The idea to rotate the venue of these conferences is to create awareness locally and involve wider local grass root participation.

The conference is a major key event of the NECIC.
