MoA to offer Diploma programme inked

SIBU: Methodist Pilley Institute (MPI) and National Early Childhood Intervention Council (NECIC) yesterday signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to offer the much needed Diploma in Inclusive Education for Early Years.

MPI was represented by its Chairman of Board of Management, Chang Jih Ren while National Early Childhood Intervention Council (NECIC) was represented by its Vice-Chairman, Dr Toh Teck Hock. The signing ceremony was witnessed by MPI principal, Hii King Kai and chairwoman of Methodist Care Centre, Kapitan Wong Hie Ching.

The objective of the MoA was to form a partnership between NECIC, MPI, a coalition of parents, practitioners and professionals from non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and government agencies to offer the Diploma in inclusive education, which will equip potential teachers with theoretical knowledge and practical skills in supporting children with special needs.

The signing ceremony was held at a leading hotel here after MPI 25th Graduation Ceremony.
